Take Profit Trader: are bots allowed? 2026 rules
No: Take Profit Trader (TPT) bans bots, automated trading systems and algorithmic execution tools on its Test, PRO and PRO+ accounts. Trade copiers are allowed, but only between your own accounts and with approved tools. Here is what the official rules say, what they cover and what they don't specify.

What you'll learn
- What TPT's rules say about bots and algos
- Which accounts are covered (Test, PRO, PRO+)
- What the trade copier policy allows and prohibits
- The penalties provided and the points the texts leave open
The short answer
Bots are prohibited at Take Profit Trader. The rule appears in two texts of the official help center: the Universal Trading Policies (UTP), which apply to Test, PRO and PRO+ accounts, and the PRO Account Rules. Trade copiers, on the other hand, are allowed, provided they only synchronize accounts that you own and control alone.
The texts below were reviewed on October 12, 2026 on TPT's official help center. The modification dates cited are metadata provided by this help center: they don't prove what changed in the content. The site's terms and conditions (takeprofittrader.com/terms) could not be consulted: access was denied (403 error).
What the official rule says
The first of the six universal policies is titled "No Trading Bots or Algos". It states that automated trading systems, bots and algorithmic execution tools are not permitted (UTP, last modification shown by the help center: October 9, 2026). The UTP specify that they apply to all TPT accounts: Test, PRO and PRO+.
The PRO Account Rules (last modification shown: September 22, 2026) are even more direct: TPT does not allow any automated or bot trading "of any kind", and all trades must be executed manually by the trader. According to the page, these rules are also included in the PRO contract sent to the trader. The PRO+ Account Rules page does not repeat this rule: for PRO+ and for Test accounts, the UTP applies.
The help center does not define what an "algorithmic execution tool" is and gives no numerical threshold (trade frequency, minimum holding time, etc.) to tell a bot from a manual trader.
What is prohibited, what is allowed
Prohibited according to the official texts:
- Bots and automated trading systems (UTP #1, PRO Account Rules).
- "Algorithmic execution tools", with no further definition in the help center.
- Copying or synchronizing trades between different users or identities, including in real time.
- Opening opposite or offsetting positions across accounts to reduce or neutralize risk.
- Using a copier to take part in challenge-passing or payout services, or in coordinated trading schemes (Trade Copier Policy).
Allowed:
- Trade copiers to manage several accounts that you own and control alone.
- Tools that assist with execution or trade management, copiers included, but only for accounts that you own and control alone: this is the framework set by the independent execution policy, which requires each account to represent independent trading activity. The text does not say where an "assistance tool" ends and an "algorithmic execution tool", which remains prohibited, begins.
- Following or learning from other traders manually, as long as the decisions and executions remain yours.
Trade copiers: the approved list
The Trade Copier Policy (last modification shown by the help center: October 9, 2026) lists the approved copiers: Tradesyncer, TradeCopia, Affordable Indicators, Replikanto Flowbot (only the "Compliance" edition) and the platforms' native copy tools (Tradovate, NinjaTrader, MotiveWave, Quantower, etc.). Using an unapproved copier, a modified version or a copy service can result in penalties, and TPT reserves the right to check the version and configuration used.
One point deserves attention: if a copier causes opposite positions across your accounts, Rule 6 (no counter positions) applies, and trades placed through a copier or an automation tool are treated as your own actions (Rule 6 article, FAQ). This FAQ mentions "third-party automation tools" without defining them and without saying they are allowed.
How it works in practice
A robot that trades for you is what the UTP #1 ban targets ("automated trading systems, bots"). The independent execution policy specifies that each account must represent a trader making discretionary trading and execution decisions.
A copier between your own accounts is a use explicitly allowed by the Trade Copier Policy ("Copy trades across your accounts"), provided it does not create opposite or offsetting positions.
The gray areas: the trading API, VPS, high-frequency trading, alerts that trigger orders and semi-automated strategies are not documented in the help center (88 articles read on October 12, 2026). The site's terms and conditions were inaccessible (403 error): we don't know whether they mention them. Between an "execution assistance tool" and an "algorithmic execution tool" (prohibited), the line is not drawn. Any in-between case should be confirmed in writing with TPT support before trading.
Penalties provided
For the bot ban, the UTP state that any violation can result in profit forfeiture, account reset, account closure or exclusion from the platform. The text does not specify which measure applies to which case, and the help center does not describe a detection method specific to bots.
For coordinated trading across accounts (and not for bots), the independent execution policy adds account review, liquidation and permanent ban in case of serious or repeated violation, with measures possible before, during or after a payout review. It states that TPT monitors in particular the correlation of trade timing, strategy similarity, position sizes, execution clustering and indicators of proximity between accounts (device, infrastructure); no single signal, such as a shared IP address, constitutes a violation on its own. The help center does not say that these measures apply as they are to a bot.
Differences by account type
No difference is documented for the bot ban: the UTP applies to Test, PRO and PRO+ accounts. A few nuances in the wording: the mention "all trades executed manually" appears in the PRO Account Rules; the PRO+ Account Rules page does not repeat the bot rule; the Trade Copier Policy does not distinguish between account types.

- Copiers: allowed only between your own accounts, with an approved tool
- API, VPS, alerts, semi-automated: not documented in the help center (88 articles read); confirm in writing with support
Frequently asked questions
Does Take Profit Trader allow trading robots?
No. The Universal Trading Policies prohibit automated systems, bots and algorithmic execution tools on Test, PRO and PRO+ accounts, and the PRO Account Rules specify that all trades must be executed manually.
Can you use a trade copier at TPT?
Yes, but only to synchronize accounts that you own and control alone, with an approved copier (Tradesyncer, TradeCopia, Affordable Indicators, Replikanto in Compliance edition, native platform tools). Copying between different users is prohibited.
What penalties does TPT provide for violating the bot ban?
The Universal Trading Policies state that any violation can result in profit forfeiture, account reset, account closure or exclusion from the platform. The help center does not describe a detection method specific to bots.
Are TradingView alerts or scripts that send orders allowed?
Not documented in TPT's help center (88 articles read on October 12, 2026). The site's terms and conditions could not be consulted (403 error). Since the ban on algorithmic execution tools is not defined, ask TPT support for written confirmation before using them.
Can the bot rules change?
Yes. The help center shows October 9, 2026 as the last modification for the Universal Trading Policies, the Trade Copier Policy and the Independent Trade Execution Policy, and September 22, 2026 for the PRO Account Rules (help center metadata). TPT also reserves the right to change the list of approved copiers at any time. Check the version in force before signing up.
